So last night as we pull onto the road that goes to our house (we live at the end of a one-way street), sitting in front of our house were a cop car and 2 fire trucks. These are things you do not want to see sitting in front of your house--EVER.
Good thing: They weren't for us.
Bad thing: The clowns almost burned their house down. (Cue caliope music). Apparently mother and sister clown are cooking dinners for the homebound/incapacipated people in their church (kudos for them). So mother and sister clown loaded up the car and left to deliver food. Sister clown left the stovetop "on" with a pan of grease on top. Naturally, these things tend to go "flame on" when left alone.
Really bad thing: Brother clown was in the front room with two other children, all watching TV. Apparently the smoke wasn't enough to budge them.
Mother clown gets back from the delivery, goes into the house, went towards the kitchen, saw the flame and smoke and screamed at everybody to get out. [Brother clown actually asked her why...mother clown was incredulous when she was telling me this.]
Good thing: They only lost the stove. They have some smoke damage (they were sitting outside with the doors and windows open when I came back from the store).
I don't make this stuff up; I can't in my wildest dreams even fathom it.
Aaagh; the future's not looking to bright anymore.
More later (hopefully nothing like this); Booboo!
